Hey everyone.
In 2008 the ACTICF relied on four coaches for seven teams.
The 45's had no manager.
The 35's had a player/manager.
In order to build and improve upon our recent successes and signs of promise, we want to make sure that all of the sides we send to national championships in 2009 are given the best possible preparation and support. This means ensuring all of our teams are fully staffed (with at least a coach and manager).
We could be sending up to NINE sides away - they are:
Australian Junior Championships
June 3rd to 8th, Perth WA
14/u Boys
16/u Boys
18/u Boys
Australian Open Championships
June 28th to July 4th, Brisbane QLD
21/u Men
Open Men
Australian Masters Championships
July 26th to August 1st, Cairns QLD
O30 Men
O35 Men
O40 Men
O45 Men
Of course whether or not we enter all the teams is subject to sufficient player interest, but a determining factor in whether team goes ahead is whether or not we can adequately staff the side.
Many people have ummed and ahhed about getting involved with teams as an official in the past, but very few have actually gone through with it. With a few of the '08 officials already unavailable, we absolutely need some more people on board for 2009.
If you are at all interested in coming away with a side as a coach, assistant coach, manager, physio, trainer, massage therapist or whatever, please get in touch with Steve Hart.
Of course if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask Steve, or I'm happy to answer them as well.
