Superleague Grand Finals

The 2007 ACTICF Superleague Grand Finals were held on Saturday August 25th, 2007 - at National Sports Club, Lyneham

Mens 3 - Grand Final: Weston Black d Weston Green
The second time that Weston has won Mens 3, this year stopping a two year domination by Kambah.

Mens 2 - Grand Final: Lyneham d NICC
The second year in a row that the National Sports Club has taken the Mens 2 title.

Mens 1 - Grand Final: Weston d Lyneham
Seven years in a row for the Weston side, just the second side in Superleague history to go through undefeated. This was also the most dominant side ever in ACTICF Superleague, dropping just 4 skins in 11 games.

Congratulations to the winning sides.

Australian Masters Championships conclude

The Australian Masters Championships have concluded in Strathpine, Queensland.

The 35's and 40's side from the ACT did not reach finals after some tough games throughout the round robin series. The ACT 30's side however made the national final for the first time for an ACT Masters side. The side ultimately went down to an undefeated Queensland side. The ACT's appearance in the national final was just the second time in a national final (including the ACT Rockets appearance earlier this year), and fourth overall counting the ACT Rockets two appearances in the National League final (which was won in 2000).

Captain/coach Billy Floros finished 3rd in the player of the tournament for the Over 30's division. Jason Hays from the same side finished first and claimed his second Player of the Series award at a national championship after his win at the 2005 Australian Open Championships. Jason was further recognised for his performance in the tournament by being named in the Australian Over 30's Allstar side.

That concludes a busy series of national tournaments for the ACT in 2007.
